It's London before the classes start!

AWAY; June 22 -- ???

I'll be backpacking this time. So no more fancy luggages, and I'd be probably giving up fancy hotels to make way for apartments and hostels. The testing ground: London. Bad choice, but still worth a try.

I'm officially travelling alone. Najmi is currently in Lisbon, and will later resume his vacation with his sister in Paris, so he'll not be in London for most of the time except at the end of my journey. Liyana will be with her family, of course, so I guess it wouldn't be nice to disrupt a family's nice vacation.

This time, it's independence, mobility and the gamble of travel. Whether I will succeed or not, well, I will find out after I finish my 7-day (or more) visit to this biggest city in Europe.

It's a great timing though. John Mayer, Sheryl Crow, Eric Clapton and my all-time favourite Jason Mraz will be performing for Hard Rock Calling on June 28 down at Hyde Park. London Biennale Architecture Festival is going on until July 20. Then there's Architecture Week everywhere in London until June ends. Jazz Plus is taking place everywhere, and from June 23 until July 10 it's the City of London Festival. There are more in the list, I expect more of the unexpected from a summer in London.

I'll drop by at Mara House or Malaysia Hall first, to check for accommodations or to at least letting them knowledgeable (?) of my stay. That, after I grabbed my Oyster Card as soon after I landed at Heathrow.

I haven't packed anything yet, and Mama's already nagging, as usual. Surprisingly I don't take it as an irritating thing anymore though. I think I'm beginning to see it as a beautiful thing to happen without fail every time I want to travel. Thanks, Mama!

My seat for the flight returning to KL is still unconfirmed, though. So if I come home late, er, you know where to find me!

I will let you know about my itineraries later. To Ayah and Mama, thanks, I'll take good care of myself, God-willing.

Yes, Dira, your Starbucks mug. Syith, we'll see how much a PS3 game would cost. Haziq, a can of coke and a lighter as usual. Katrina, I'll call you when Mr A-Z sings I'm Yours.

Listening to: Lighthouse Family - High. See TimeOut: London, HardRockCalling, Frommer's: London, Lonely Planet: London. Recommended read! Let's Go: London
