In the Name of God, the Loving, the Forgiving.
Whoever saves the life of one human being,
"I've prayed for the wrong person,"
"You did?"
"I thought I could change things..."
"--then?"
"I was wrong."
"What brought you to say that?"
"I don't know. I just don't know..."
"You know...,"
"What?"
"...that God wouldn't change a person, unless that very person changes himself?"
"No. I mean, yes. Damn it. I've prayed for the very wrong person."
"No.., you didn't..."
"--what was I thinking? An asshole, like me, changing another person's life?"
"a special person, that is. Well...at least you've tried."
"What for? Can I at least know what for? Praying for something impossible? I was dumb, I tell you! Stupid! Ignorant! I was blinded..., even in the holiest of Houses!"
"Regret not, fret not. You know...,"
"--damn it"
"...you know, God asks us to not be sad, as He is always with those who are patient..."
"...but patience comes only with His Grace. Now where is it?"
"You'll find it. I mean, aren't we all?"
"I thought I've cared. I thought I've done everything for love. I thought that I can fight the love...,"
"but you can't fight what's already in the Quran..."
"I thought there's a way"
"but I don't think there is.."
"there should be!"
"What for? Which future do you hold in it? That thought? No future! Nothing!"
"Oh, God."
"Have patience. Take this as a test... God tests those whom He loves."
"I've made a mistake. Loving a person who didn't even care to love you back. And to even think of things to change my way--"
"--have patience. Now, pray."
...it shall be as if he had saved the whole of humankind...
Qur'an: 5:32. Posted in where things, maybe unfortunately, have started.
